Instructions

  1. Backs, fronts and arms are preprinted. Choose how many pairs of arms you want your puppet to have

  2. Create a head for your puppet. Use TinkerCad, download something from Thingiverse or create a head in clay and use 123D Catch to create a model.

  3. Open Blender.

  4. Download and open this file

  5. Import your head stl file into the blender file

  6. Scale and align your head to fit with the body parts (Use G-z, G-x, G-y) to move the head into place.

  7. Once the head is in place press G-y and move the head away along the Y axis

  8. Insert a cube and in the panel on the right set the dimensions to 3.3 x3.3 x 3.3.

  9. Align this cube with the hole in the back.

  10. Move along the y axis and intersect the cube with your head

  11. Select the cube, then Shift +Left click on the head.

  12. Add a modifier

  13. Select Boolean.

  14. Select Difference

  15. Select Cube

  16. Select Apply

  17. In Main window deselect all.

  18. Click on the cube and press X

  19. Select the head and File>Export>Stl.

  20. Open in ReplicatorG and print

  21. There are holes for 1/8" cube magnets. Add a drop of super glue into the hole on the back. Insert the magnet.

  22. When set, connect a magnet to the inserted magnet. Add a drop of super glue to the hole in the front piece and making sure to keep the right alignment, insert the second magnet in the hole.

  23. Repeat the magnet process to connect the head to the back

  24. Drill two holes in each arm. One for the screw and one for the string:

Make sure you have some play in that hole so the arms moves freely.

  25. Each set of arms are ganged together with a piece of string so you can operate each pair separately. Tie the string on the arms before you screw them to the back. Anney used some glue on her knots so they wouldn't come undone.

  26. Pre-drill holes in the back for your machine screws and make it pretty small so you can self tap into the plastic. Don't overtighten the screw-leave a little play. Once you put the arms onto the back- then tie your arm pairs together.

  27. Add a keyring at the end of each of your strings.

  28. Decorate your puppet
