Passionate about learninng

Liz graduated from the Cooper Union and NYU ITP. She taught in the Computer Department at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn Heights from 2002 until 2016. In addition to teaching full-time, Liz worked for MakerBot and Tinkerine as their first Education Coordinators, publishing Makerbot’s first curriculum and leading educator workshops to help public and private school teachers incorporate 3D printing into their classrooms.

In January of 2016, along with Professor Laura Taalman from James Madison University, Liz worked on a 6-month research project for Ultimaker, which explored the needs of educators who wanted to take advantage of 3D printing in their classrooms.

By the summer of 2016, she helped launch the data-backed Ultimaker Pioneer Program, an initiative designed to bring 3D printing into K-12 classrooms, college courses, makerspaces, and libraries across North America. From September 2016 to August 2019, she served as Ultimaker North America’s Education Community Strategist, managing the Pioneer Program and maintaining the education section of Ultimaker’s website.

In 2017, alongside Ultimaker colleague Matt Griffin and educational ally Chip Bobbert, Liz co-founded Construct3D Conference LLC. Construct3D produces vendor-agnostic conferences and expos focused on 3D printing, design, and digital fabrication. At these events, academics, industry practitioners, artists, and informal makers meet to exchange best practices, workshop innovations, pedagogical tools, professional development opportunities, and hands-on, real-world experiences. The conference welcomes faculty, staff, students from informal, K-12, and higher education contexts, and industry and non-academic allies who share a passion and curiosity around raising the level of discourse around new/evolving tools and the outcomes and opportunities they afford students and practitioners. Construct3D is anideacommunity for innovators to gather to exchange ideas, build networks, learn new skills, and accelerate the adoption and exploration of new ways of realizing design objectives. Duke University, Georgia Tech, Rice University, and NYU have hosted in-person events.

From 2019 to 2023, Liz was the Education Partner Manager at nTop, and during the 2021-2022 school year, she served as the Maker in Residence at the Dwight School. From 2023 to 2025, Liz worked with Voltaic Systems, a company specializing in custom solar panels and solar power systems for industrial IoT applications. She currently works as an independent contractor, developing curricula and designing eLearning experiences.
